It all began in 1999 at a small apartment in Budd Lake, NJ. Abubakr Sakhu and his wife Qadriyyah Sakhu had a vision to start an organization that would help find jobs for people with mental illness, chemical dependency, or a physical disability. Almost 20 years later People Helping People in Need has found jobs for more than 4,000 people and provided more than 10,000 hours of counseling.
Our services are unique because we have a threefold approach.
Our supporters will have an opportunity to help end the scourge of Addiction, Homelessness, and the lack of employment opportunities in New Jersey. This is extremely important because of the heroin and drug epidemic that impacts our society.
These values guide People Helping People in accomplishing our mission:
This will be a one of a kind facility owned operated and run by The Muslims. Contributions will be utilized for set-up, to obtain necessary licenses, approvals and then staff the new treatment facility scheduled to begin operations in March 2017. Currently there are very few options for the people in this area. This area by State statistics has the least services available in the Country and we will have a great impact rebuilding the lives of the people we serve.
